Whoops, drawin’ more Namco High stuff! Whoops! Honestly, the production team for this game is some of its biggest fans. The whole thing was truly a labor of love.
I’ve been noticing in a the Namco High tag that people have been primarily gendering Cousin as male in fanart. WHICH IS FINE! Cousin was designed for people to be able project any gender onto them. But I also want to remind players that male doesn’t have to be the default! The sky’s the limit!!
My wrist is still recovering and I’ve been spending a lot of my time daydreaming about having the time/health to be able to play the new Ace Attorney game. In a fit of nostalgia, I dug out my old tegaki doodles from 2008. Due to the nature of Tegaki, a buncha these are piecemeal uncompleted conversations with other people and might be a little incoherent.
Candy Capers #5 comes out today! Tessa Stone did the second half of the issue and let-me-tell-you, both she and Ianknocked it out of the park. Ananth and I have been pleased as punch with how this series has been shaping up. Infinite thanks to our letterer Hannah, colorist Maarta, and our awesome editor Shannon.
I’m bummed this cover was rejected, but hopefully it will be included in the collected trade paperback!
Candy Capers Issue 3 Cover: Variant A. brush and ink, photoshop.
Oh dang, Adventure Time: Candy Capers is out TODAY! Let-me-tell-you, I went through like 4 or 5 different thumbnails to make Lemongrab as un-terrifying as possible.
The first half of the issue was drawn by Evan! He did an incredible job, especially considering the number of butts we forced him to draw. The second half returns to Ian McGinty who, as always, is perfect in every way and a pleasure to work with. Lettering by Hannah Nance Partlow and colors by Maarta Laiho, both of whom are the irreplaceable glue that keeps this book together. And love to our editor Shannon forever.
Oh man, I am so so so into Natasha’s Bee and Puppycat. And, until anyone tells me otherwise, I will forever assume Deckard was designed just for me because he is my brand of kawaii anime boi. (see also.)
I’m right in the middle of a move and ALSO haven’t been making anything that I can really share on the internet! Sorry I’ve been quiet lately!!
Candy Capers Issue 2 Variant A Cover. brush and ink, photoshop.
Oh dang, I was wrong! Adventure Time: Candy Capers Issue #2 is out in stores NOW! My cover is the Variant A cover this month, which means you should be able to get it anywhere that carries the series. Ian did an awesome job drawing this one, Ananth and I are pleased as punch with how it came together!
I drew this picture of my and Ananth’s Animal Crossing characters a while back and then kinda forgot about it. (I fiddled with Howl’s skin color so he looks more like Ananth, shhh.) We’re both wearing outfits I designed in the game; a collared shirt and sweater on Aido and a Hell’s Varsity jacket on Howl (it says 666 on the back). I keep on meaning to nab the QR codes for these guys and put them somewhere online.
Woa woa woa guys! It looks like Adventure Time: Candy Capers Issue #1 is available in stores today?? This is gonna be a 6-issue miniseries written by myself and Ananth and drawn by the super talented Ian McGinty.
I saw some other people drawin’ their characters as Animal Crossing animals and thought it was a fun idea! Walter and North both get to be “Smug”-type, because that’s the closest equivalent to “anxious,” ha ha.
