Nesting Cats design. photoshop.
I should mention, the Johnny Wander Kickstarter still has four more days! Here’s one of the things I designed just for the kickstarter, it’s going to be on a tote and a sticker!

Cricket’s demons. From the latest Johnny Wander comic.
Due to some wrist problems, I’ve been drawing the latest J*W comics with my left hand. It’s been really fun, actually! I liked how the latest update turned out so I made an animated version of the last panel.

Drawings from ECCC 2012, part 2 (part 1 here)
Woa, completely forgot about these! Here’s another batch of sketches from ECCC. Gosh, I’ve gotten a lot of requests to draw Garrus at conventions lately. I wonder why, hmm….

Drawings from ECCC 2012, part 1
Shoulda put these up a long time ago! I did as many sketches as I possibly could at ECCC, but sometimes it wasn’t practical with the crowds. Here’s some of the ones I remembered to take pictures of!
There’s about three posts worth of these guys, I’ll try to spread ‘em out a bit.
You guys should know, I’m really good at drawing guns.

Cricket yawning. Photoshop doodle.
When the kitten yawns, she looks positively fiendish. I am not kidding, the face she makes straddles the line between disturbingly cute and disturbingly otherworldly. Do cats usually not close their eyes when they yawn? I think Rook closes his eyes when he yawns. Maybe Cricket is some sorta changeling.

Cricket and Rook comic excerpt. Brush pen.
A snippet from today’s comic. The tones kinda smothered the texture in the blacks, so I wanted to share the original untoned version. Full comic here.

Cricket photos, with a cameo by Rook.
I was looking through photos on my camera and figured I’d share some pictures of the latest terrible addition to the family. Man, lookit her little black pads. Lookit the little black freckles on her mittens. Cricket’s the cutest, awfullest kitten. We love her so much.
It’s pretty difficult to get photos of Rook and Cricket hanging out together because Rook will nearly always try to clean Cricket and then she’ll bite him and then it’ll go downhill from there.

Cricket. Brush pen and photoshop tones.
We finally revealed the kitten’s name over at Johnny Wander!
Keeping in with our theme of “naming cats after other animals that are not cats,” the kitten is named Cricket. Partially because she is so small, partially because she is so dumb, and partially because she is constantly making that “hello I like you” cat chirp that cats do. (For those of you just now tuning in, my other cat is named Rook — more after the corvid than the chess piece.)
Just so everyone knows, Cricket’s full name is “Cricket Whiskey Space Race Ota.” Rook’s full name is “Rook Sausagebiscuit Jurassic Park III Ota.” These are the things your pets get named when you ask cartoonists and assorted strangers from the internet for help.
