When I first started drawing a lot, oh jeez, I was in elementary school.  I traced and copied a lot of Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, and Peanuts (but only Snoopy) cartoons.  There were these stupid penguin and a dachshund characters I drew in the margins of my notebooks.  Also, I drew portraits of all my stuffed animals.
