Copy of an Audubon Painting. 1997. Nostalgia Monday.
Aw yiss, more stuff found in my parents’ basement!
When I was 12, my mom gave me a miniature book of Audubon bird paintings. Somehow it became my most important resource book for a couple years— I learned a lot about anatomy and wing structure from leafing through the thing for hours and trying to copy the paintings in watercolor. This one was a sharp-shinned hawk. There were a bunch more, but this guy was my favorite.
macaw using pastels. I wasn’t so personally enthralled in it (I’d rather draw dragons lol)
