Engwish Bwudd, 2007. Acrylic/mixed media/collage on wood, 12”x12”. Nostalgia Monday.
Whew, finally back in NYC! It’s been a long day. This is a painting I did in either my junior or senior year of college — we were supposed to do an interpretation of the first 30 seconds of a song, I chose Engwish Bwudd by Man Man. I’m not sure if this was ever posted online?
A hint: it helps if you listen to the song and follow each figure for two beats in the first line and four beats in the second and third lines. There’s some hidden characters in there, primarily Forza and myself and Pythias smack in the middle.
There’s a lot of flawed stuff about this painting, but I’m still fond of it— mostly because it’s so drastically different than anything I’d ever made before or since. It’s hanging in our living room.
good, very good....think it really captures...my favourite...
